FSX Missions

Hi Pilots. I have some good news. Rob Albers has made a few missions for FSX and has kindly given it to us to experience. I have seen a few of them and they are EXCELLENT. He has used freeware scenery so you can experience the whole bit. Herewith the links. Should you have a problem getting them I am sure if you buy him a coke at the club he will give them to you there. SCHEDULED EVENT SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER 2009

Hi all you virtual pilots! That is if you still know where the ignition switch is located. (We do not take you word for it. Only if we see you do it at the club will you receive the necessary accreditation). The planned event for Saturday 17 October will be postponed till Saturday 31 October 2009 due to the semi’s and final of the Currie Cup! We would then like to do the formation flight that was suppose to be on 19 September 2009 but could not take place. Only one pilot pitched and he had a hard time flying formations with only one plane in the air! Ha Ha…. Please diarise this day and be part of some nice formations on the network. The event will be a first for the club as far as my knowledge goes. We will participate in a formation flight from Waterkloof Air Force Base to Hoedspruit with Default King Airs. The planes will take off one after the other to form a formation as you will be briefed by the Formation Leader. (Imagine 6-8 planes flying formation). During the flight to the destination airport you will be instructed to form 3 different formations. We will fly to Hoedspruit where we will brake up the formation to land in the sequence as given by the Formation Leader. Make sure to bring your earphones for we will be flying on the network and need to be in contact with one another. The flight as well as the formations will be captured on video to show at events to market flight sim. To participate you will have to be there on time. Take off will be at 14:15. Make sure to have set up your computer by then! Would really like to see some of you again – Heard that Arno has grown a beard, Dale has gone completely bold, Robbie got all his hair back, myself has had a …. transplant! You got to see this! See you Saturday 31 October! Watch your instruments! You are flying upside down! Johan VACS EVENTS MANAGER

CLUB to OPEN Doors Again.

Hi Pilots We have some GREAT news re our clubhouse !!!! The people occupying our clubhouse had to do with the controlling of airspace during the Confederate Cup. They are now nearly done with wrapping up their operation and the Officer Commanding has granted us a trail period to see if we can warrant our space as our clubhouse. So I appeal to you to come make use of our facilities on weekends. Kind regards from a HAPPY Committee Arno Kohler VACS Secretary.

VACS NETWORK 100% OPERATIONAL.

I am pleased to announce that we have FINALLY sorted the network problems out. After nearly two years of trying to get someone to sort out the network it has been done. A VERY BIG thank you to Mr Robert Hampshire that spend a good 5 hours solid at the club Saturday the 31st of January 2009. !!!! After testing and retesting the problem was identified and corrected. So as of now we have a working network with all points active. I recommend that members bring a normal (not cross over) fly lead to the club every time to connect to the network. This as we have now got sockets in the trunking where you can plug the lead in. This was done to minimize the damage factor to the network. It is thus again with great pleasure that I can inform you that we are ready for the fly inns planned on the Network and also online via the network. Kind regards Arno Kohler VACS Secretary
